Climate

Tenerife is known internationally as the "Island of Eternal Spring". The island, being on a latitude of the Sahara Desert, enjoys a warm climate year-round with an average of 20°C-22°C in the winter and 26°C-28°C in the summer and high sunshine totals. The moderate climate of Tenerife is controlled to a great extent by the tradewinds, whose humidity, principally, is condensed over the north and northeast of the island, creating cloud banks that range between 600 and 1,800 meters in height. The cold sea currents of the Canary Islands, also have a cooling effect on the coasts and its beaches and the topography of the landscape plays a role in climatic differences on the island with its many valleys.

Spot conditions:
The beach

The big sandy beach is save for launching and landing. Launching and landing can be a litlebit more difficult because of the gusty wind on the beach. There are almost no obstacles on the beach. The beach can be crowded in summer, June-August.

The water conditions

The beautifull cristal clear water is 18°C in winter and 24°C in the summer, so you need a wetsuit almost all year, except for those warm summer months. There are small waves that make the water 'wave choppy'. Watch out for swimmers.

The wind conditions

The consistent trade wind blows from the left and is side-onshore. It blows mainly from the north-east and can be strong. On the beach the wind can be gusty, once kiting in the bay it is stable.

Allgemeine Information:

- Whale/Dolphin watching

- Shopping in Santa Cruz

- Tauchen/Schwimmen

- Windsurfen

- Moutainbiken/ Wandern/ Kletter

- Canoeing

- Reiten

- Wellenreiten

Klima

- La Tejita (sandiger Strand, flaches Wasser, side-shore Wind)
